BACK TO THE FUTURE: MARGE CARSON, CARSON UPHOLSTERY TAPS STYLE ROOTS OF CALIFORNIA CASUAL ELEGANCE
APRIL 2018, HIGH POINT, NC – Marge Carson is famous for creating a style of upholstery whose sculpted shapes and casual elegance came to define the California Casual look. The look, characterized by ample scale, flowing silhouettes and a neutral palette of plush textiles, will be revived and updated at the April 2018 High Point market.
“The California Casual look is so timely for today,” said Creative Director Michael Delgaudio. For 2018 and beyond, Marge Carson and Carson upholstery will interpret the look in friendly, natural-fiber body cloths in rich neutrals, infused with luxurious accent pillows and trims in subtle, soothing tints of color. The pillow and accent palette includes tones such as dusted silver, lilac, slate, blush and terra cotta.
The overall feel will project a serene, casual sophistication to create an inviting refuge for interiors from traditional to transitional to contemporary.
Marge Carson Upholstery Introductions
Arcadia Sofa
Greek Key motif embellishment around the front rail and arms will fit beautifully with the Arcadia Collection, which draws upon classical Greek design elements and clean lines to update traditional styles. For versatility, the Arcadia Sofa will be offered in two sizes: large at 108 inches, and small at 84 inches wide. The color palette will blend a soft oatmeal body cloth with dusted silver and oyster accent pillows in velvet and silk.
Aurora Small Sofa
Using the same sculpted shape as the current Aurora Sofa, the Aurora Small Sofa offers a more compact footprint adaptable to many living environments, with overall depth and length reduced by 7 inches. A wheat-colored body cloth will be accented by exquisite pillows in Tanzanite blue, including velvet pillows and a copper and silver pebble design.
Jasmine Sofa
This curvaceous sofa with fluid lines accentuated with luxurious show wood, is more moderate in scale (86 inches) for use in a variety of interiors. The palette offers a limestone gray body cloth with accent pillows in hints of blush, pale terra cotta and lilac.
